April 11th, 2003 "Scientific and Political Perspectives on Dealing with Yucca Mountain and Related Low-Probability, High-Consequence Geological Hazards," Dr. Jonathan Price, Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology. Location: Austin's Restaurant, 7671 S. Virgina St., Reno, 6:00 pm.

May 14th, 2003 High School Chemistry & Physics Awards, 6:30 pm, SLH 1, UNR campus. Guest speaker: Dr. Alfred Schultz, "Hubble Space Telescope: A Historical Perspective."

September 11th and 12th, 2003 2003 Sierra Nevada Distinguished Chemist Award. This year's awardee is Prof. Graham Fleming, UC Berkeley. His public lecture will be held Friday, Sept. 12th at 4:00 pm on the UNR campus. The topic will be "Mechanisms and Optimization of Photosynthetic Light Harvesting." The Banquet will take place Thursday, Sept. 11th at Bricks Restaurant, Reno, 6:30 pm.

October 20th, 2003 "Forensic Science: Developing Analytical Techniques for Terrorism and the Courtroom," Prof. Ralph O. Allen, University of Virginia. Location: Famous Murphys Restaurant, 3127 S. Virginia St., Reno, 6:00 pm.

December 12th, 2003 "West Coast Blends," Annual wine tasting meeting. Location: Harry Reid Engineering Building, Room 110, University of Nevada, Reno, 6:30 pm.
